This was the group's greatest contribution to rock & roll. Though they never had a number 1 hit, they started out pretty strong with a string of 3 consecutive #2 hits. This was the second of the three. Oddly, and perhaps as a result of some superstitiously bad luck, each of the three hits lasted exactly 13 weeks in the Hot 100. The group never again returned to the top 10. Any trivia buffs out there...? This single has an edited version of the 4:08 album cut. Note: This copy comes in a vintage Columbia Records factory sleeve. It grades Near Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).
