Sultans of Swing

This is a new, unplayed promo copy, in its original Warner/Reprise factory sleeve. This special promo has a long (5:52) version, plus a an edited (4:38) version that appears only on this release. Besides having two different edits, this promo release is actually a different recording from the 5:49 track on the album. The vocal and guitar phrasing are quite distinct from both the stock copy and from the versions on a subsequent promo release (whose catalog number has the suffix "RE-1"). What a gift to guitar picking was Mark Knopfler! The 1980's would have been a less interesting decade musically without him. This is his group's debut single. Note: This beautiful 45 has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).
