This is a new, unplayed promo copy, with "Sweet Johanna" marked as the "Plug Side." I don't know anything about this obscure group, except that (1) they had no chart singles, (2) they aren't listed in "Rockin' Records" (the most comprehensive guide to U.S. vinyl releases I'm aware of), and (3) they have two singles listed in John Manship's Soul 45s price guide. Neither of these sides is what I'd call "Soul" music, but that doesn't mean I don't think they're wonderful! Both sides have grooves that remind me of Little Feat or the Band, and they're very different songs — both worth recording if and when this single sells. Obviously, Stefan is a new band to me, but I'm sure lots of other collectors have discovered them, and perhaps this beautiful promo 45 is just what they've been looking for! Note: This beautiful copy has Mint labels and audio; the vinyl (styrene) has a hint of storage wear, grading Near Mint.
