Dissed by rock critics and classic-rock fans alike in the 1970s and 1980s, Abba's beautifully crafted, exquisitely arranged singles have definitely weathered the test of time. Here's one which is a good life-energy tester: If you don't find yourself humming along and tapping your toes by the end of the song, you're either deaf or nearly dead. :-) Or... you're a Bubblegum Resister. Enjoying Abba works best if you've embraced the Rock Music joy that is Bubblegum Rock. Here, silliness is celebrated; childish remembrances are set to toe-tapping dance rhythms; emotions described are those of teenagers, and that's OK! Learn to love "Sugar, Sugar" by the Archies, and you're heading in the right direction. :-) Of course, Abba's brand of Bubblegum and Sunshine Pop is as unique and ingenious as that of Bubblegum Rockers such as Tommy Roe, Tommy James, or the Grass Roots. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Atlantic Records factory sleeve. Label A is pristine Mint, but Label B has a tiny date inked on it, so the overall Label grade is Near Mint (sw). The vinyl looks hardly touched, with just a hint of storage wear. The audio is pristine Mint.
