This is a new, unplayed promo copy from the
Louise Neal 45 Collection. You might think that I, living in the Washington, DC, area, would be able to find some Shrine 45s hiding away somewhere... right? Wrong! U.K.'s Northern Soul fans have long ago raided D.C. for Shrine singles, and this is the first original I've ever possessed... Thanks to this rare promo 45 from Louise Neal's collection. This particular release is cheap by Shrine 45 standards, which regularly range above $1000 in Near Mint condition, but man is it a good one! The A side is a stand-up-and-take-notice, uptempo Northern Soul-style dancer, and it's this side that fans are mostly seeking out. But fans of Deep Soul will thoroughly enjoy the powerful B side as well. Both sides credited to "Leroy Taylor And The Four Kays." This Baltimore native later released at least one single without the Four Kays, on Brunswick (U.S.). Note: This beautiful copy's white labels have light color-fading toward the outer edges, and the A label has an "X" inked on it. The vinyl (styrene) exhibits faint storage wear, also grading Near Mint. But as expected, after a good cleaning, the grooves crank out big, pristine Mint audio... as good as it gets!
