That's What He Told Me/ Sweetheart Darling

From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed promo copy. This is a pristine mint nugget with two better-than-the-last, uptempo Motown-style soul experiences awaiting you. "That's What He Told Me" is particularly magical... it had been released the previous year on Ric Tic 105. How these tracks managed to be overlooked by pop radio is a mystery, or perhaps it was just bad marketing. :-) Another mystery is how hitsville has eluded the A side in the U.K.'s northern soul clubs... Most of the attention there seems to have been focused on the Supremes-wannabe track, "Sweetheart Darling", which, though very enjoyable, is outclassed by its flipside. I'm sure an enterprising DJ could turn "That's What He Told Me" into a smash with a few strategically timed spins! Note: The artist's name is spelled "Batiste" with one 't' on this release.
