This is a beautiful copy of one of the Drifters' most sought-after singles. It's rare for a copy like this to turn up for sale nowadays. Not only is it hard to find, it has the distinction of having a different version of the song than the one you're used to: It's not the same lead vocal as on reissues and compilation albums. Unlike those, the original has a distinct variation in the vocal on the lines\r\n

Under the boardwalk,
Down by the sea,On a blanket with my baby's where I'll be.

The difference is apparent in the last two verses.

Note: This single is from a large collection we've purchased whose records typically have mint or near-mint audio and near-mint vinyl. The labels are near mint as well, but the owner had a habit of writing a date in small print on the B side label. This copy comes in a vintage Atlantic Records factory sleeve.
