Won't You Let Me Know/ My Love Came Tumbling Down

This is an original copy from the collection. Here's a beautiful copy of one of Barnes' very first singles, even then managing to emulate the early Motown sound. Here, Barnes is credited as "J.J. Barnes & The Dell Fi's", and it's interesting to note that the recordings were released on a small Nashville, TN, label. This, by the way, is the first release of these tracks, identifiable by noting distribution by Ace Records. (A later pressing on Rich notes distribution by Mercury.) Note: Note: This 45 is among those in the Neal collection that she may have actually played, but no more than once or twice I would guess. In this case, the labels grade Near Mint, reflecting one small touch of storage wear and two small "X" marks on the A side (see scan). The vinyl has some light storage wear and indications of possible use, grading a strong EX. I'm grading the audio Near Mint, because I think the amount of noticeable noise is low enough for club or radio play: The audio is strong and undistorted, but has occasionally audible, light surface noise.
