Here are two monstrously great sides from the great Barbara Lynn. This is one of several singles she recorded with Tex-Mex producer Huey Meaux in the mid-1960's and is an early version of the classic "You Left The Water Running,", originally written for and recorded by Wilson Pickett (though he didn't release it as a single). The flip is another terrific uptempo number with a completely different feel. By the way, "Barbara", who wrote her name on both sides of the label (I'm sure it wasn't Ms. Lynn...), clearly took very good care of this single and didn't abuse it with a worn needle as so often happened. If she had, the crystal-clear audio on the styrene would have degraded quickly... but it didn't! Aside from her carefully printed signature, the label is as beautifully preserved as the audio and vinyl.
