Here's a truly gorgeous copy of the first pressing, with the Script-style Gordy logo. Not one of their biggest hits, and not included in either Dave Marsh or the Rolling Stones "top 45s" lists, I nevertheless don't see how this single can rate less than 2 stars from Classic 45s! Not only do you get the amazing, complex, and oh-so-satisfying love song on the A side, courtesy of the great Norman Whitfield, you get a Smokey Robinson tune on the flip that's well worth seeking out. This song has been performed by many Motown artists over the years, and has often appeared on B sides, but it's never found a vehicle to shine on its own. It well deserves to be a hit some day in its own right. Note: This copy comes in a vintage Hitsville U.S.A. factory sleeve. It's hard to find fault with this record, but I suppose the labels and vinyl do have a faint touch of storage wear. Even without a deep cleaning, however, the audio is just awesome... pristine Mint.
