This single was a re-release of Cannibal's hit from the year before (Rampart 642). The Date version is apparently a re-recording as well, although it sounds almost identical to the original to me. The real coup here is the flip, a super version of the soul classic "Mockingbird," produced by hitmaker extraordinaire Richard Gottehrer. Note: This copy comes in a vintage Date Records factory sleeve.
