Cannibal & the Headhunters were an American band active in the mid-1960s, known for their contribution to the Chicano Rock movement. They gained significant recognition with their hit rendition of "Land of a Thousand Dances", which reached number 30 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1965. The band was led by Frankie "Cannibal" Garcia, and they were one of the first Mexican-American groups to have a national hit record. Their music combined elements of rock and roll with distinctive Latin rhythms and harmonies, making them a key influence on the East Side Sound of Los Angeles.
