African Music Machine

African Music Machine

African Music Machine was an American funk and soul band active in the 1970s. Led by bassist Louis Villery, the band was known for their tight, rhythmic ensemble playing, characterized by a prominent horn section and driving bass lines. They released a number of singles on the Black Top label, including "Black Water Gold (Pearl)" and "Mr. Brown," which are considered classics in the deep funk genre. Despite not achieving widespread commercial success, African Music Machine made a significant contribution to the development of funk music.
