After the Fire

After the Fire is an English progressive rock and new wave band that gained prominence during the late 1970s and early 1980s. The group, founded by vocalist and keyboardist Peter Banks, is known for their blend of synthesizers and guitars which created a distinctive sound. Their most influential work is arguably their 1982 cover of Falco's "Der Kommissar", which reached number 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100. After the Fire's significance in music history lies in their ability to bridge the gap between progressive rock and new wave, influencing a generation of synth-pop artists.
