Alan Parsons is an English audio engineer, songwriter, and record producer, best known for his work with the Alan Parsons Project, a progressive rock band that was active from 1975 to 1990. The group was formed by Parsons and his creative partner, songwriter and lyricist Eric Woolfson. Their distinctive sound blends progressive rock with pop and classical influences, and their most influential works include concept albums such as "I Robot" and "Eye in the Sky". Despite their significant influence on the progressive rock genre, the band's avoidance of touring contributed to their somewhat understated public profile.
