Basic Black is an American R&B group that rose to prominence in the early 1990s. The band, originally composed of Walter Scott, Lloyd Turner, Kelvin Bradshaw, and Darryl Adams, is known for their soulful harmonies and New Jack Swing style, a fusion of hip-hop, R&B, and pop. They are best known for their hit "She's Mine," which peaked at number five on Billboard's R&B chart. Despite their short-lived career, Basic Black left a distinctive mark on the R&B scene of the early 90s.
