Bob & Earl were an American soul music singing duo, active in the 1960s. The group consisted of Bobby Byrd and Earl Nelson, both of whom had successful solo careers after the duo disbanded. They are best known for their 1963 hit single, "Harlem Shuffle", which has been covered by various artists and notably sampled in the Rolling Stones' version. Their music style was characterized by smooth harmonies and soulful, R&B rhythms, influential in the evolution of soul music during that period.
