Bond is an Australian-British string quartet known for their unique blend of classical and pop music. The all-female band, composed of Tania Davis (violin), Eos Counsell (violin), Elspeth Hanson (viola), and Gay-Yee Westerhoff (cello), was formed in London in 2000. Bond's signature sound is characterized by the use of traditional string instruments in contemporary compositions, a style that has gained them considerable international success, notably with their debut album "Born". Despite initial criticism from the classical music community for their unconventional approach, Bond has contributed significantly to the popularization of classical crossover music.
