The group, comprised of members David Gates, Jimmy Griffin, Robb Royer, and later Mike Botts and Larry Knechtel, was known for their mellow, melodic sound. Bread is most recognized for their hits such as "Make It With You," "Baby I'm-a Want You," and "Everything I Own," which have become staples in the soft rock genre.
