Brick was an American band that played a fusion of funk and jazz, popular in the 1970s. Often credited as one of the pioneering bands in the genre of "funk-jazz", their distinctive sound was characterized by the interplay of keyboards and saxophone, backed by a solid rhythm section. Their most influential work, "Dazz", topped the Billboard R&B charts in 1976 and is considered a classic in the funk genre. Band members included lead vocalist/saxophonist/flutist Jimmy Brown, keyboardist Regi Hargis, and bassist Ray Ransom, each contributing to the band's unique sound.
