By All Means was an American R&B/funk band active in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The group, composed of lead vocalist Lynn Roderick, along with Billy Sheppard and James Varner, was known for their soulful, melodic sound that blended elements of jazz, funk, and pop. The band's most significant work is arguably their 1988 self-titled debut album, which includes the hit singles "I Surrender To Your Love" and "You Decided to Walk Away". Despite their short-lived presence on the music scene, By All Means left a lasting impact on the R&B genre.
