Chas Jankel is a British singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist best known for his work with the new wave band, Ian Dury and the Blockheads, during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Noted for his distinctive fusion of funk, jazz, and punk influences, Jankel contributed significantly to the band's signature sound and penned several of their hit songs, including "Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick". His solo work, which includes the dance hit "Glad To Know You", further bolstered his reputation as an influential figure in the post-punk and dance music scenes.
