Chase was an American jazz-rock fusion band, formed in 1970 by Bill Chase, a distinguished trumpeter who previously played with notable acts such as Woody Herman and Maynard Ferguson. Known for their complex brass arrangements and fusion style, they achieved significant recognition with their debut album, "Chase," which featured the hit "Get It On". Bill Chase's innovative use of a four-trumpet front line, instead of the traditional one or two, gave the band a distinctive and powerful sound. However, their time in the spotlight was tragically cut short when Bill Chase and other band members died in a plane crash in 1974.
