Cornell Gunter

Cornell Gunter was an American rhythm and blues singer, most notably recognized for his work with The Coasters, a vocal group that rose to fame in the late 1950s. Known for his distinctive high tenor and comedic timing, Gunter significantly contributed to the group's success with hits like "Yakety Yak" and "Charlie Brown". After leaving The Coasters in 1961, he embarked on a solo career, experimenting with doo-wop, soul, and pop music styles. His influence on the development of rhythm and blues during this era was significant, despite his untimely death in 1990.
