The Delta Rhythm Boys were an influential American vocal group active from 1934 to 1987. Known for their tight harmonies, the group was a significant contributor to the evolution of doo-wop and R&B music. Comprising of members Lee Gaines, Carl Jones, Traverse Crawford, Kelsey Pharr, and pianist Rene DeKnight, the group was renowned for their renditions of spirituals and popular songs, with their most notable work being "Dry Bones". Their pioneering influence on post-war vocal harmony groups is recognized and appreciated in the annals of music history.
