Dexter Freebish

Dexter Freebish is an American alternative rock band formed in Austin, Texas in 1995. Known for their melodic, guitar-driven sound, the band initially gained prominence when they won the 1999 John Lennon Songwriting Contest with their song "Leaving Town." The group, featuring lead vocalist Rob Kyle, guitarist Scott Romig, bassist Chris Lowe, and drummer Rob Schilz, released four albums, with their debut album "A Life of Saturdays" achieving significant popularity. Despite never reaching mainstream success, Dexter Freebish continues to contribute to the alternative rock scene, exhibiting a consistent commitment to their distinctive sound and style.
