Digital Underground is an influential American hip-hop group, formed in Oakland, California in 1987. Known for their eclectic style, they mixed funk samples and live instrumentation, creating a sound that was distinctive in the early hip-hop scene. The group's most notable member, Greg "Shock G" Jacobs, was renowned for his alter ego "Humpty Hump", and their biggest hit "The Humpty Dance" from their debut album "Sex Packets" in 1990. Digital Underground also played a significant role in launching the career of rapper Tupac Shakur.
