Donnie Fritz, also known as Donnie Fritts, was an American keyboardist and songwriter primarily associated with the Muscle Shoals sound of Alabama. Known for his gritty, soulful style, Fritts collaborated with a number of significant figures in the music industry, such as Kris Kristofferson, and penned songs for artists like Dusty Springfield and Willie Nelson. His own recordings, including the notable "Prone to Lean" (1974), showcased his distinctive fusion of country, soul, and blues. Fritts' contributions greatly shaped the character of American Southern music from the 1960s onwards.
