Earth Opera was an American psychedelic folk rock band active from 1967 to 1969. Formed by Peter Rowan and David Grisman, both later prominent in the bluegrass world, the group's sound was a fusion of folk, rock, country, and baroque influences. They released two albums on Elektra Records, including their self-titled debut which is known for its complex, classically influenced arrangements. Though short-lived, Earth Opera is noted for its early exploration of genre-blending in rock music.
