Excellents

The Excellents were an American doo-wop group formed in New York City in 1960. Known for their harmonious vocal style, their most notable hit was "Coney Island Baby," which reached number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1962. The band, originally consisting of members George Kerner, Joel Feldman, Denis Kestenbaum, Phil Sanchez, John Kuse, and Chuck Epstein, had a significant impact on the doo-wop genre despite their brief career. Their distinct sound, characterized by smooth harmonies and nostalgic themes, continues to influence contemporary doo-wop and rock and roll artists.
