Felony is an American new wave and rock band that emerged during the early 1980s. They are most recognized for their top-40 hit "The Fanatic," which was prominently featured in the 1984 film "Valley Girl" and the opening credits of the MTV show "The Cutting Edge." Led by brothers Jeffrey and Joe Spry, Felony's musical style combined synthesizer-driven new wave with rock elements, earning them a distinctive sound within the era's music scene. Despite their limited discography, the band holds a significant place in music history, particularly within the context of 1980s new wave and rock genres.
