Gloria Jones is an American singer and songwriter, known for her influential work in the genres of soul, R&B, and pop music. She gained prominence in the late 1960s with her original recording of "Tainted Love," which would later become a global hit for the British synth-pop duo Soft Cell. Jones' unique fusion of soulful vocals and pop sensibilities significantly influenced the development of Northern Soul and modern electronic music.
