Hollyridge Strings

Hollyridge Strings

The Hollyridge Strings were an in-house band for the Capitol Records label during the 1960s and 1970s, best known for orchestral versions of contemporary pop and rock hits. Led by arranger and conductor Stu Phillips, the group's signature style was blending classical arrangements with popular music, creating a unique sound that appealed to a broad audience. They gained significant recognition with their album "The Beatles Songbook", a series of four volumes that offered instrumental renditions of the Beatles' hits. Although they didn't garner critical acclaim, the Hollyridge Strings were commercially successful, reflecting the mainstream's growing acceptance of pop and rock music.
