The Icicle Works is a British alternative rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1980. The band is best known for its eclectic style, combining elements of psychedelic, new wave, and post-punk music. It was fronted by lead vocalist and guitarist Ian McNabb, whose songwriting drew influence from the likes of The Beatles and Bob Dylan. The band's most notable work is the 1984 hit single "Birds Fly (Whisper to a Scream)", which solidified their place in the 80s indie rock scene.
