J.R. Funk and the Love Machine was an American funk and R&B band active in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The band's musical style was characterized by its upbeat, danceable rhythms and soulful vocals. Although not as widely recognized as some of their contemporaries, they made a significant contribution to the funk genre with their 1980 hit single, "Feel Good, Party Time," which reached number 1 on the Billboard Dance chart. The band was led by James Reese, also known as J.R. Funk, whose energetic performances and distinctive vocal style greatly contributed to the group's unique sound.
