Topsy II/ Topsy I

Here's one of the nicest copies of this Jazz crossover classic I've ever had — made extra special by the gorgeous, pristine Mint audio still stored within these styrene grooves! Although the "B" side of this single became the bigger hit, don't dare think the A side is a track to ignore! I love both sides and would never want to be forced to choose a favorite! Just make sure you get a beautiful copy like this one for your collection at some point, whether you normally love Jazz or not! Cole is a truly demon drummer! The B side started getting airplay in August 1958 on Pop radio, where it eventually peaked at #3; still on Pop radio, the A side started getting played in September and eventually peaked at #27 after 13 weeks. On the Bilozoard RnB Singles chart, audiences began to take notice of Part II in October, and the track eventually went on to top that chart. Curiously, this big hit was a non-album single, though Cole made albums before and after this single. Note: The labels and vinyl (styrene) grade Near Mint, with only very minor touches of storage wear. As noted, the audio is pristine Mint on both sides (and that's without any deep cleaning)!
