Summertime, Summertime/ Searching For You

This is the first time I've had a copy of this campy 1950s vocal-group number that I could grade near mint! For one thing, as a styrene (rather than vinyl) pressing, the audio was vulnerable to easy damage from teenagers with sub-par record players. For another, the glued-on labels seem to typically have some "bubbling," which makes them more vulnerable to ringwear. For me, this copy has near mint labels: Yes, it has some "bubbling," but it's only minimally intrusive visually; there is a hint of ringwear on some of the "bubbles" (see scan). The styrene itself is a strong EX, with only the faintest of scuff marks. The audio is the best I've ever heard, approaching Mint. Note: This tune charted again in 1962, on the same catalog number, and it rose to #38 on the Bilozoard pop chart. There is no difference in value between the two pressings, that I'm aware of. The 1962 release was accompanied by a picture sleeve (the 1958 release was not).
