Jesse Belvin was an American singer, songwriter, and pianist known for his smooth vocal style that blended pop and R&B influences. His most notable contribution to music was the hit song, "Earth Angel", which he co-wrote, and his own single "Goodnight My Love" which greatly influenced the development of the doo-wop style in the mid-1950s. Belvin's promising career was unfortunately cut short by his untimely death in a car accident in 1960, yet his significant influence on the genre of rhythm and blues persists.
