Jim Ed Brown was an American country singer-songwriter who played a significant role in the Nashville sound movement of the 1950s and 60s. His smooth, baritone voice became a staple on the country music charts, with hits like "Pop a Top" and his duet with Helen Cornelius, "I Don't Want to Have to Marry You". Brown was also a member of the family vocal group, The Browns, known for their tight, three-part harmonies and their 1959 hit, "The Three Bells". His contributions to the genre earned him a place in the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015.
