Malo is an American Latin rock band formed in San Francisco in 1971 by lead vocalist Jorge Santana, the younger brother of famed guitarist Carlos Santana. The band is known for its blend of Latin-infused rock, jazz, and blues, characterized by extended, improvisational instrumental jams. Their most notable hit, "Suavecito," became a signature song of the Chicano community and is considered a pioneering work in the Chicano rock movement. Despite numerous lineup changes, Malo continues to perform, contributing to the enduring legacy of Latin rock.
