Mary Love

Mary Love, born Mary Ann Varney, was an American soul and gospel singer most active during the 1960s and 1970s. Known for her soulful and emotive vocals, she was a key figure in the West Coast soul scene. She is best recognized for her work with Modern Records, producing hits such as "You Turned My Bitter Into Sweet". Despite not achieving widespread fame, Love's unique blend of gospel and soul, coupled with her heartfelt performances, solidified her place in music history as an overlooked but significant contributor to the soul genre.
