Matchbox 20, also known as Matchbox Twenty, is an American rock band formed in Orlando, Florida in 1995. The band's formation was led by Rob Thomas (vocals), Brian Yale (bass), and Paul Doucette (drums), who are known for their post-grunge and pop rock style. Matchbox 20's debut album, "Yourself or Someone Like You", released in 1996, was a major success and includes their signature hit "Push". The band's blend of rock and pop, along with Thomas's emotionally resonant songwriting, have made them significant figures in late 90s and early 2000s popular music.
