McGuinness Flint was a British rock band formed in 1970 by Tom McGuinness, former member of Manfred Mann, and Hughie Flint, ex-drummer of John Mayall; notable members also included vocalist and keyboardist Dennis Coulson, and multi-instrumentalists and singer-songwriters Benny Gallagher and Graham Lyle. The band was known for its blend of rock and folk music, characterized by rich harmonies and strong, melodic choruses, as demonstrated in their hit singles "When I'm Dead and Gone" and "Malt and Barley Blues". Though short-lived, disbanding in 1975, McGuinness Flint had a significant impact on the British rock scene of the early 1970s, and Gallagher and Lyle went on to enjoy successful songwriting careers.
