Modern Romance is a British pop band that emerged in the early 1980s, known for their fusion of Latin American and contemporary pop rhythms. Founded by former members of punk rock band, Leyton Buzzards, Andy Kyriacou and David Jaymes, the band's most successful period was marked by the inclusion of Jaymes' brother, Geoffrey Deane, as vocalist. Their distinctive sound is characterized by the Latin percussion, trumpets, and dance-oriented beats, most notably featured in their hit single "Best Years of Our Lives." Despite their short-lived career, Modern Romance's unique blend of Latin and pop had a significant impact on the 80s UK music scene.
