Osibisa is a Ghanaian-British band that made substantial contributions to world music in the 1970s. Founded in London in 1969 by four expatriate African and three Caribbean musicians, Osibisa is known for their fusion of African, Caribbean, jazz, funk, rock, Latin, and R&B music. Their distinctive style, characterized by vibrant rhythms, multi-layered percussion, and horn-driven rock, brought African music to mainstream western audiences. Among their influential works, "Woyaya" and "Sunshine Day" stand out, serving as powerful vehicles for the band's uplifting message and unique sound.
