Piano Red

Piano Red, born William Lee Perryman, was an American blues and boogie-woogie pianist and singer who had a significant impact on the post-war rhythm and blues scene. Known for his infectious, upbeat style and flamboyant stage presence, he gained popularity in the 1950s with hits like "Rockin' With Red" and "Dr. Feelgood". His piano work, characterized by a pounding left-hand rhythm and playful right-hand melodies, exerted a strong influence on early rock 'n' roll artists. Despite his blindness, he had a prolific career spanning over four decades, making him an iconic figure in blues history.
