The Red Rockers are an American punk rock band formed in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1979. Initially influenced by punk and reggae, the band later incorporated elements of new wave and mainstream rock into their sound, most evident in their hit single "China." The band's original lineup consisted of lead vocalist John Griffith, guitarist Darren Hill, bassist Patrick Butler Jones, and drummer Jim Reilly. Despite disbanding in the mid-1980s, Red Rockers hold a significant place in music history for their fusion of punk and mainstream sounds during a transformative period in American music.
