Reno and Smiley

Reno and Smiley were a notable bluegrass duo that emerged in the 1950s, featuring Don Reno on banjo and Red Smiley on guitar. Their music, characterized by tight harmonies and virtuosic instrumental work, contributed significantly to the development of the bluegrass genre. Reno's innovative three-finger picking style on the banjo, combined with Smiley's smooth vocals and guitar playing, set them apart within the bluegrass community. They are perhaps most known for their hit "I'm Using My Bible for a Road Map", which has since become a bluegrass standard.
