Robyn Hitchcock & the Egyptians was a British alternative rock band, active primarily from 1985 to 1993. The band, led by singer-songwriter Robyn Hitchcock, included former members of The Soft Boys, Morris Windsor and Andy Metcalfe. The group's music, characterized by Hitchcock's surreal lyrics and distinctive vocal style, combined elements of folk, psychedelia, and new wave. Noteworthy albums include "Fegmania!" and "Element of Light," which have influenced subsequent generations of indie rock musicians.
