Sidewalk Skipper Band

Sidewalk Skipper Band

The Sidewalk Skipper Band was an American pop-psych band from the late 1960s. Originating in Tampa, Florida, the band was known for their blend of psychedelic rock and sunshine pop, characterized by complex vocal harmonies, innovative arrangements, and the prominent use of the Mellotron. Although they did not achieve significant commercial success, their distinctive sound and two singles, "Strawberry Tuesday" and "Cynthia in the Garden," have had lasting influence in the genre. They are often cited as an example of the regional creativity that was flourishing in the American music scene during the psychedelic era.
